Tip 1

If your front door security is basic, install a deadbolt as a supplement to prevent unauthorized access from the outside.

Tip 2

Installing electronic hardware on your front door will help you have better control over who tries to enter while simultaneously making unwanted access more difficult.

Having a high level of security at your front door is key to ensuring privacy and well-being in your home. For this reason, we recommend investing in high-quality hardware that helps you prevent intrusions, control access to your home, and even increase the value of your property.

Mandatory door security

Comfort and peace of mind are directly linked to security.

The front door is the main entry point for burglars, which is why it is a priority to have good security installed, allowing you to go on a trip or leave your home with the peace of mind that no unauthorized person will enter.

For this, we always insist that it is not necessary to have a thousand gadgets installed; it is enough to have quality hardware that guarantees the least vulnerability possible. To that end, there are four essentials for your doors:

1. Cylinder/Lock core. The cylinder is the primary barrier to entry. This allows us to lock the door, and depending on its quality, it will be more or less easy to manipulate. We recommend at least a high-quality cylinder (there are low, medium, high, and premium grades) to ensure a minimum level of protection.

2. Security escutcheon. This is the companion to the cylinder. It protects it so that it is difficult to access from the outside. There is a wide variety of escutcheons, but clearly, the more solid it is, the greater the protection.

3. Peephole. We recommend installing a peephole, preferably digital, to control access to your home simply and effectively, allowing you to distinguish who is on the other side of the door.

4. Lock. The lock will often depend on the type of mortise you have in the door, which will determine which model you can install. Measure well to see what you can fit in your door, but be clear that whenever possible, a 3 or 5-point lock is ideal for a residential entrance door.

The door is the primary foundation before starting anything else. A flimsy door, no matter how many accessories and add-ons you install, will remain a vulnerable door. When choosing any entrance door, we recommend that it be armored or at least have a minimum level of security systems.
