Concealed hinges for doors and cabinets

Concealed hinges, also known as invisible hinges, are a type of hinge ideal for passage doors made of any material (wood, metal, glass) that aim to go unnoticed, provide security and aesthetics to the doors, and make the most of space. The installation of a concealed hinge is, generally speaking, more complicated than any other type of hinge. Even so, the resistance, elegance, and service life they offer will always be much better. Whenever someone wants to carry out a high-quality, well-finished project, we recommend installing concealed hinges.

Features of an invisible door hinge

Concealed hinges have two parts, each of which is embedded into the edge of the door and the door frame to allow for rotation. The recess in the door should be made with a special machine known as a pantograph, as the measurements must be exact for the hinge to fit perfectly into the door or cabinet. Furthermore, once inserted, this type of concealed hinge is 3D adjustable, allowing you to adjust the invisible hinge in height, width, and depth.

There are large and small concealed hinges, and depending on the weight and thickness of the door, you will need to select one or the other. Naturally, the larger the hinge, the more weight it will support, and you will be able to install fewer hinges per door, and vice versa. Each of the hinges we offer specifies how to install and adjust them so they remain securely fastened.

Invisible hinges have resistant and durable mechanisms. They are manufactured in zamak, iron, or stainless steel, which often makes the piece an unbreakable, high-quality element. They include a cover plate to style the edge of the door, and their mechanism sometimes includes a soft-close feature, ensuring subtlety and harmony are present in the door.

There are multiple different models of concealed hinges, and depending on the door's type of rotation and the closing position, you will need to install one type or another. In general, every concealed hinge allows for a 180-degree rotation on both doors and cabinets; however, occasionally, the door may have springs or uneven surfaces that hinder full rotation, limiting it to 90 degrees.

Finally, another characteristic of concealed hinges is that the screws can be visible or hidden, depending on the aesthetic you want to give your doors.

Types of concealed hinges

Concealed hinges exist for everything. As we have already explained, there are concealed hinges for doors and cabinets. But, on the other hand, there are also concealed hinges for folding tables, concealed hinges for iron doors, or concealed barrel hinges. Although the shared characteristic of all these hinges is that they are invisible, the rest of their functions, shapes, and styles are completely different and adapted for each workpiece. The concealed hinge for metal doors is usually offset, and concealed hinges for heavy doors tend to be somewhat longer to support more weight.
