1st You must first know if you need a privacy lock or a thumbturn. The privacy lock is for handles with rosettes and the thumbturn is for handles with backplates.
2nd Once decided, choose between a round or square rosette shape. Usually, this is chosen based on the rest of the hardware you have on your doors. If the handles are round, you should choose a round privacy lock and vice versa.
3rd If your latch has a 70mm center-to-center distance, you can choose a privacy lock with a 50mm or 35mm rosette. However, if your latch has a distance of 47mm, you can only install a 35mm privacy lock.
